It’s always difficult knowing what to say to a friend or loved one who has been diagnosed with a mental illness.
The idea for this card came to me when I was sending a message to a friend with depression and anxiety who was going through a tough time. I sent the message “Sorry to hear about your brain” as I knew it would make him smile, let him know he wasn’t alone
and also let him know that I understood that he and his mental illness are separate things.
Let’s not beat around the bush, Mental Ill Health sucks, and a card is not going to cure it, but it can help open conversation when the words are hard to find and it can let your loved one know that you are not going anywhere.
